Natalie receives the Grit Academy Award

At The T Squash Academy, we not only teach athletes the sport of squash, we also emphasize developing strength in character. The core principles embraced at The T Squash Academy are Kindness, Respect, Self-Discipline and Grit. When an athlete in our program exemplifies one of these qualities, they are recognized with The T Academy Award.

A rising star in our tournament league, Natalie received the award for Grit in June.

During an extra practice session, Coach Laura asked Natalie to practice her backhand with the right technique on the swing machine a couple times before she could continue to play. 15 minutes later, coaches notice that Natalie is still at the swing machine working hard to perfect her swing. This act demonstrates the amount of dedication and focus Natalie has on her game.

The T Summer Bronze

The T Summer Bronze Tournament

On the weekend of July 17th, The T will be hosting The T Summer Open, a local junior squash tournament open to all junior players in the Cincinnati area. It is designed for our current players and any new players who have started to play this summer. Because this is a small, local tournament, we can keep the price attractively low. The goal is good, competitive play for children to work on what they have been learning in our summer camps.

The tournament will take place on Saturday July 18th and Sunday July 19th at The T Squash Academy.

A highlight of the weekend will be the professional exhibition match between our own Coach Andrew Kriete and Nick Sachvie, who is currently competing on the pro tour. The exhibition match will begin at 5:00 pm on Saturday afternoon and will be a great treat for the kids.

Registration

Registrations for our Summer Open here at The T; we will not use the USSQUASH system. To register, please email Coach Laura.

Early registration fee: $50 per child before July 5th

Regular registration fee: $60 per child before July 12th

Registration will close on July 15th for the tournament.

Registration fee includes:

1) Guaranteed 3 matches

2) Tournament favor

3) Lunch on Saturday

4) Tournament coaching by Coach Laura, Coach Kip, Coach Andrew, Coach Nick, and Coach Neal

Alejandro received the T Squash Academy Award for Kindness in May.

Alejandro has gone above and beyond what is expected him on court and off court with his peers. He is routinely seen on court with younger players passing on wisdom from his private lessons with Coach Neal. Younger players enjoy the advice and help of their older peer. Alejandro’s kindness to younger players demonstrates how the T is a team and community.
